1969 Omega Constellation 'Linen Dial' Ref. 168.029

Why This Watch Matters

The eye-catching linen dial, fluted bezel, and day-date complication help make this Omega Constellation an excellent value proposition.

The Full Story

Before the Speedmaster and Seamaster lines had developed their substantial followings, the Constellation collection – first introduced in 1952 – was considered the most popular Omega collection. This Omega Constellation ref. 168.029 with a linen dial dates to 1969 and is a great example of how the watch has evolved over the decades.

This model features a tonneau-shaped steel case that measures 37mm in diameter and fits wonderfully on the wrist. The 12 o'clock logo, six o'clock Constellation star, and hour markers are all applied to the dial, giving the watch an excellent sense of dimensionality. In addition, the framed day-date indicator adds a final bit of functionality and adds to the overall excellent value offering. According to the Omega Archives, this watch was built in 1969 and sent to U.S. market.

We paired this Constellation with our eye-catching Reid Strap in Blue. The bright blue color offers great contrast to the softness of the linen dial.
