Why This Watch Matters

This may look like a simple time-only Oyster Perpetual, but it’s not. It’s a Zephyr, which is one of the more rare vintage Rolex models around.

The Full Story

The Rolex Zephyr went into production in the 1950s with the reference 6582, followed by the reference 1008 (like the one you see here). The Zephyr was characterized by the cross-hair dial and faceted bezel. This example features a slick black dial with two-tone case in 14k yellow gold and stainless steel. The Oyster bracelet is period correct with rivets and wears comfortably on the wrist. But our favorite part about this watch is the dial and full tritium lume plots; how can you argue with that?

What we Love and What You Should Know

The case is well preserved with minimal scratches and slight wear. The bezel shows light scratches throughout, and the case shows signs of wear. The bracelet is period correct, however the end links might be added later, as they are only stainless steel and not two-tone (although this combination has also been seen). The crown has also been replaced. This is a stunning and unusual vintage Rolex that is sure to set you apart.
