1964 Enicar Sherpa Super Jet

Why This Watch Matters

With thickly sculpted lugs and a highly attractive black and white dial, the Enicar Sherpa Super Jet is an under-the-radar watch demanding loudly to be noticed.

The Full Story

There is truly so much to love about this watch. Everything, from the aesthetics of the dial, the Sea Pearl caseback engraving, the EPSA Super Compressor case, the architecture of the lugs, and even the splash of color from the roulette date wheel, make this a supremely wearable and attractive timepiece. More refined and restrained than the Sherpa Guide 600, but with the similar sense of checkerboard whimsy, the Super Jet was available with either a black center dial, as in this example, or with a silvered center dial. The polished steel case, with its extended, faceted lugs, and intriguing dial layout, make this a compelling watch for any sports watch or travel enthusiast.

What we Love and What You Should Know

This watch has the correct EPSA diver’s helmet signature on the inner caseback, with the dual crowns etched with the correct cross-hatched pattern and Enicar’s Saturn logo. The caseback itself shows some significant wear and scratches throughout, though the front-facing elements of the case do not show this wear. The lugs show various degrees wear on some edges. The dial is in excellent condition, with evenly aged lume throughout the handset and indexes. The GMT does show some signs of oxidation and loss of color. All caseback engravings are still present and visible, and the watch looks fantastic for almost any occasion.
