1950s Rolex Precision Reference 4363

Why This Watch Matters

The 35mm case of this reference 4363 still looks stunning to this day. Add to that a compelling dial with applied indexes and logo, and this Rolex definitely justifies our attention.

The Full Story

The Precision line offers a mix of case shapes that didn't necessarily follow the construction of the waterproof Oyster case, as evidenced by the angular lines of the Rolex Precision 4363. Initially launched in the 1940s, its 35mm diameter was considered oversized. It wore even bigger thanks to its height at just below 10mm. The no-lume configuration here accentuates the dressy vibe, with the sharp dauphine handset offering a very interesting juxtaposition with the sharp applied indexes. This Precision proves that Rolex really knew how to make dressier watches just as well, if not better than its famous tool watches.

What we Love and What You Should Know

The stainless-steel case is in great shape, as evidenced by the sharp lugs and the long coronet still engraved on the caseback. The bell-shaped crown is unsigned, but it is perfectly correct for this reference. The dial shows some minor aging marks, but overall it is extremely well preserved with a very clean seconds track. The applied indexes and logo give a very nice dressy feel to this Rolex Precision, matched by the dauphine handset.
